Build Day 33

Assistance

Our young mare wandered in to see what I was doing and if I was interested in horses...maybe a scratch.

Rear Lights

Finished terminating the plate and reverse light.

Extractors and Exhaust

Trial fitted the extractors and exhaust...I know, I know...again!

Engine Bay Wiring

With the fuse/relay box finalised I am tidying up the engine bay wiring.

...and with the exhaust in place I could connect up the oxygen sensor.

Build Day 32

Fuse/Relay Box

I have been struggling with the Birkin fuse box for a while; the supplied chassis was a tight fit and had to be dropped into the footwell and pushed back up vertically through its hole to access. I unscrewed the fuse and relay housings from the chassis and cut 20 mm from the angled end as well as making some brackets to mount it. Re-assembled and re-attached. Now I am happy that I won't have to touch it again I can finish the connecting and looming the engine bay wiring.

Rego Plate Light

Mounted and connected the rego plate light including getting the wiring into the tube of the spare bracket.

Build Day 31

Seats

Made mounting plates and attached the Cobra seats to the chassis brackets.

Rear Harness

Located the rear harness in the tunnel and through to the rear space. Connected the reverse and handbrake switch and the tachometer sense.

Rear Lighting

Male and female connectors for the brake/indicator combination.

Brake sense

Crimped the ferrules to the rear wiring harness and attached to brake sense.

Exhaust

I made a trial fitting of the extractors and exhaust and found I was missing the tang welded to the end of the exhaust to attach to the rubber buffer mounted on a plate to the car chassis.
