Stand down from standing by to panic

Aaaah....

I rang the freight company and once they could see the connote on their system they told me the truck probably wouldn't arrive until Friday afternoon and the boxes can easily stay in the depot until Tuesday.

Meantime I have been to Radum in Virginia and got a good deal on an engine crane and leveller, a mobile mechanics stool and some ratchet straps.

Standby to panic...

Aargh! Frank from Birkin has emailed me that the boxes left last night and will be here Friday.

Looks like I will need to buy my engine crane tomorrow so I can unload and return the hire trailer on Friday (just in case I can't get helpers).

Deposit paid...waiting!

So my news is not news...

I have just paid my deposit on a Birkin S3 Roadster in kit form. A Lotus 7 replica with a new Zetec engine, Type 9 gear box and Subaru Viscous LSD.

Hopefully it will arrive in Brisbane next week, to be picked up from the freight depot. I am putting on some pizzas in exchange for some muscle (my son and some workmates) to unpack and unload into my garage, which I spent the weekend re-organising as a build area.

So this is my first entry of my build diary. I intend to keep a record of my progress and what worked and didn't on the way.
